While walking in the city centre of Tours, I bumped into this really nice and warm tea shop. Hansel & Gretel is the perfect name for this paradise of cakes, confectionery and every thing sweet. Quite small, but such a cozy shop, where you can sit down and enjoy a nice hot cup of tea, or a quick break while watching at people down in the street.
I chose to go for a quick savoury break: a delicious cabbage soup with cheese and some bread to warm me up, after the whole morning spent running here and there in town. And a proper coffee with a small pain d’épices was the perfect end to the lunch.
The offer is wide and it includes sweet and savoury crepes, galettes, soups, different homemade cakes and hot teas or chocolates. In the shop you can also buy confectionery and some local products. And the owners are really nice: I asked for some places to visit and they were very helpful (I didn’t have the chance to see what they suggested as I lacked of free time, but that’s another story).
If you are around then, go and visit this place, you won’t regret it!
